Calibration/Metrology Technician - Lancaster, NY

 

Seeking candidates for the full-time position of Calibration Technician to calibrate, troubleshoot and repair many types of laboratory, test and measurement equipment/instruments covering several disciplines including, but not limited to: volumetric dispensing (i.e.: pipettes, burettes, and dispensers), temperature/humidity (i.e.: glass & electronic thermometers, hygrometers, etc.), mass (i.e.: calibration weights). Work will be primarily performed at our facility in Lancaster, however occasional travel to customer sites may be necessary.

Performance Requirements:
• Minimum of Associates degree, Scientific or PMEL related experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to safely lift & move heavy items.
• Possess strong math & computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
• Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude is helpful.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Work well independently with minimal supervision, and with fellow team members.
• Ability to interface with customers & maintain a high level of customer service.
• Ability to analyze & interpret data.
• Ability to multi-task & meet deadlines while assuring compliance with Quality system.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 is helpful.

Field Service Technician - Central NY (Syracuse)

 

Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Installation, inspection, calibration, repair and maintenance of Industrial & Laboratory Weighing and Measurement equipment.

• Complete service documents and test reports for review with customers and submission to Customer Support Center.

• Providing top notch service to customers while always maintaining a good attitude and appearance.

• Traveling to customer facilities to provide service (occasional overnight trips).

• Provide consultation and quotations to customers for products and services.

• Compliance with all company policies along with customer, OSHA, and DOT regulations.


Job Requirements (Skills & Abilities):
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Strong electronic and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license - CDL (Class B) preferable but not required.

• Ability to work under pressure, alone and as part of a team, in variable working environments.

• Be able to pass background checks, drug screening, and physical exam (pre-employement and as required by customers) 
• Must be able to safely lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
• Represents self and the company in a postitive, professional & ethical manner towards customers, co-workers, and vendors.

• Proven organizational skills to maintain inventory on company assigned service truck, and complete jobs within an effective/efficient schedule.

• Detail oriented to accurately process paperwork within specified deadlines.

• Basic knowledge of computers and software.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 is helpful.

• Will train qualified candidate.
